Church of Holy Sophia in Practice:

Order of Renunciates

Renunciate Vows

I accept and believe that all comes from God and that my purpose is to seek harmony with God in all my actions, thoughts, and way of life. My goal is to seek harmony with God so that I may ultimately become one with God.

To that end, I give all my own life unreservedly over to God’s will.

I renounce my attachments to people, places, things, ideas, and feelings. I will offer the care of all these into God’s hands, trusting in God’s plan for me.

I will offer the fruit of all my actions to God alone. I accept nothing as mine; everything, all my attachments, I offer to God.

Everything that comes to me, I will accept as God’s gift.

I will strive to be an example of living a pure, loving, and harmonious life. I will live free in God’s love, rejoicing in God’s presence in my heart.

I may choose to live a more simple life, becoming more open to God, by renouncing those things that hold me closed. When I renounce whatever this is, I also turn that over to God and ask for the space freed to be filled by God.

Those people who share my life I will know are a channel of God’s blessing. I will strive to be a channel of God’s blessing to them as well. With the experience of the love and respect I feel for those in my life, I will in turn reach out in love and service to all.

I ask God’s help in achieving perfection in my holy vows. I have no goal in life but to know God and serve as a channel of God’s love and blessing to all beings.
